Jack Hardin Towell grew up in one of the American top equestrian families. His parents, Jack and Lisa Towell, run Finally Farm in Camden, South Carolina. He moved up the hunter and equitation ranks before transitioning to the jumper divisions. He competed in junior jumpers before becoming a professional and going out on his own. Hardin is not just a rider; as his father, he is also a trainer, and especially the one of Bill Gates' daughter, Jennifer. 
Towell competed in his first Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final in Las Vegas in 2015 and made his Nations Cup debut at CSIO5* Gijón.
